2014 Zinfandel

Zinfandel thrives in California.  In Mendocino Zinfandel is iconic, expressing qualities unique to Mendocino Zins.   Our Zinfandel comes from sturdy, century-old head-pruned vines, which flourish in shallow rocky soils.  Here Zinfandel takes advantage of the hot afternoon sun and cool maritime nights to achieve optimal ripeness while retaining naturally high acidity.  Aged exclusively in French Oak Barrels for 40 months the tannins soften to balance the wine, demonstrating notes of deep red berries and a dash of peppery spice.  This wine pairs well with grilled beef or lamb, wild game, and grandma’s meatloaf.  Cheers!
