In the high elevation of Potter Valley, hot days give way to cool marine influenced nights developing a natural acidity that is true to this varietal. Our Tocai Friulano is whole cluster pressed then fermented in neutral French Oak barrels in the sur lie method. Aromas of wildflowers frolic through the nose, echoed with hints of honeysuckle which are complemented by citrus flavors that evoke Myers lemon and a finish that recalls notes of almonds. This wine is wonderful with poultry and seafood, especially shellfish and mollusks, as well as cured meats and mild pasta dishes. It is a nice accompaniment to Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisines. Tocai Friulano drinks wonderfully young however don’t let this fruit forward clean crisp wine fool you as it becomes more complex and interesting with even years of bottle age. Cheers!
